Smart Deadbolt Locks From Ali Express Installation and Review

In this post I will walk you through how to install this smart deadbolt lock and provide my honest review of this device as well.

I bought this cool looking Deadbolt smart lock Ali Express, For S$100

The device was shipped to my home in less than two weeks, it was well packaged and bubble wrapped.

The outlook of this smart lock mimics the design of the Igloohome Smart Deadbolt 2s lock. referring to Igloohome website, it will cost you $209.99.

Unwrap the wrapper

The packaging includes some of the items listed below

1. The smart lock (front and back)
2. Rubber pad for the smart lock, both front and back
3. Deadbolt
4. Different screws
5. door sensors
6. a guide to
7. 3 set of keys
8. 2 smart tags
9. Drilling cardboard guide

Installation tool to prepare

There are some tools you may need to prepare for installation

1. hammer
2. Flat screwdriver
3. Philips head screwdriver
4. 25 mm hole saw
5. 15 mm hole saw
6. exercise

Level 1

Remove the existing lock

Install the new deadbolt lock from the package

Do make sure that the direction of the deadbolt is installed correctly, there is an engraving of “Top” on the deadbolt, which will face the direction of the top.

Step 3

Attach the cardboard marking to the door, mark the hole accordingly, when finished start drilling a hole with the correct saw size.

Step 5

Install the smart lock bolt facing the front and then insert the smart lock into your door hole with the rubber pad attached to it

Step 6

Adjusting the nob

There is an adjustable knob that can be turned with a Phillips head screwdriver.

The direction of the knob determines which way your door opens. (left or right)

To determine the opening direction, I stand in front of my door, by referring to the picture, it is very clear that the door opens on my right side when I face the door

Adjust the nob mark in red against your deadbolt lock.

Step 6

Attach the rubber pad to the back of the smart lock and mount it to your door

Check the Smart Lock with the physical key

Set up administrator/user access by referring to the installation guide.

Regarding this step, I won’t elaborate, as I found the explanation of setting up administrator/user access in the guide to be quite straightforward and clear.

my review

The finish of the Dead Bolt Smart Lock looks shiny and presentable, in external reference people may think it is an expensive lock. But when you flip inside, the built interior may have room for improvements, such as using a higher-quality finish and a metal-built nub instead of a plastic block. Functionally, the smart lock can be opened in several modes, (1) Fingerprint (2) Access Code (3) Smart Tag (4) Physical Key, for this kind of pricing, I personally gave it a thumbs up.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a cool smart lock, and don’t consider spending 200 plus for it, this lock would be a good choice
