So, you are looking for iWALK PowerSquid review, right? Well, this little gadget was offered to me for review and I accepted! What caught my attention at first was the built-in charging cables and sleek design.

I couldn’t wait to put it to the test, having just finished a review of the iWALK model name here.

The PowerSquid is a power bank that comes with multiple charging ports, allowing you to charge multiple devices at the same time. It’s a handy device for those times when you’re on the go and need to charge your smartphone, tablet, or any other USB-powered device.

first impression

When I first opened the box I was pleased to see that the iWALK marketing team had kept the box design consistent across their range. It’s a pleasure to unbox and the presentation of the device, once you lift the lid, is great.

It is packed in a hard outer box and comes wrapped in a disposable plastic sleeve to protect it.

But honestly, the sleeve isn’t necessary. Despite the disposable plastic, I immediately liked this little device.

Build quality and design

Let’s dive right in, I’m really quite impressed with the build quality. It feels sturdy and well made, with a solid build that gives me confidence in its durability. The plastic used to make the PowerSquid seems good quality, I really hate the idea of using cheap and brittle plastic to pack the batteries. They need to be well protected and they are in this case.

There are no loose or flimsy components and no poorly fitted panels or rough-finished plastic to worry about how long it will last before it ends up in the landfill. With that in mind, I definitely believe it will take daily abuse and general wear and tear.

The PowerSquid has a good and promising weight, without being too heavy. It helps in the portability department.

Speaking of being portable, it has a compact and portable design, making it easy to slip into a bag or pocket without adding much bulk.

The ports and connectors are well integrated into the device, although, if you’re a nail-biter, as I sometimes am, you might struggle to get the cable out of its hiding place!

There’s a USB-C and USB-A port on either end of the cylinder-shaped PowerSquid. It also looks like the ports have been re-reinforced, to help prevent damage around the edges of the insertion points.

I was afraid of a possible point of failure, regarding the cables. However, they are firmly attached to the device and they do not show any signs of weakness when connecting or disconnecting your devices.

The PowerSquid features an LCD screen that shows the remaining battery life, allowing you to keep track of how much power you have left, you don’t want to be caught short when you need power the most!

It’s super easy to read and bright enough, even on very sunny days.

While I like the LCD display, it feels like the only weak point in the charger. Pressing it with my finger, it does make a subtle but distinctive plastic squeaking noise. I really don’t think this will be an immediate failure point, just one to keep in mind. Maybe an egg standard LED indicator light would have been better.

I really like the compact design and the white color, the combination of glossy and matte looks quite classy, in my opinion. I do feel it can get quite dirty, but a good microfiber cloth and a very light mist of cleaning spray should do the trick.

charging performance

Now to the most important part of my review, by far. So, how well does the iWALK PowerSquid perform when it comes to charging your devices?

Well, to get straight to the point, it’s brilliant. It charges my iPhone amazingly fast, using PD’s fast charging capability. Since it contains 9000mAh, it will charge your iPhone between 2 and 3 times, depending on the model.

I also plugged in the iPad Air and it charged flawlessly as well. This will almost charge the iPad Air to 100% before it runs out of juice. I feel for the price, it’s just a little short on capacity, I really like the iWALK, but I think it would be much better if they increased the capacity to 10,000mAh.

how much does it cost and where can i buy it

The iWALK PowerSquid is priced in the mid-range for power banks of its type. You can find it at various online retailers, including Amazon, where it is commonly available. You should check different sites to get the best deals and availability.

I do think it’s a little overpriced for the battery capacity, but you can get it on sale from Amazon for less than £30. Click the button below to check it out.

Summary and verdict

This is a pretty solid choice if you need a portable power bank with multiple charging ports. Its build quality is impressive and the charging performance is reliable.

Grade: 9/10

I can see this is one of my portable chargers.
